Skateboard deck art has always interested me since I first laid eyes on the wall of skateboards at my local skate shop growing up. I have explored painting them using different mediums and experienced skate deck shows blooming around the United States. I wanted to bring this aesthetic to Boone, NC and get some local artists involved to bring the community a great art show and experience.
The show was hosted at 3rd Place Gallery in Boone, NC. The shows opening night was April 3, 2015 and the exhibition stayed up for 1 month. The members of the Decked Out art show got interviewed by the Appalachian Newspaper and we started a Kickstarter to help raise some money to fund the materials the artists would be using for the show. Overall, the show was a great success and hopefully will make its way to a gallery in bigger city around the area or further.
